Vacation Bible School 2009

Vacation Bible School
And Church Picnic

Bible school is a fun place, we have dinner together, we learn, pray and play together.  Each class is brief, 15 to 20 minutes, and we move on to another activity. We even have Science Class!

SUNDAY was the wrap-up, with singing in church, then Moonbounce, ice cream, picnic, snowballs, popcorn, fries, sausages, beans, and the works! Click this link to hear the songs from Sunday morning. This was the collection of all the sounds and cheers that were learned and practiced.

Right- Some of the artwork. Below, the Altar has the bandanas as the paraments for the day.

Above, some of the congregation. Right, left, below, LaMonique, Heather, Susan, April and many others taught the children songs and cheers all week. We got to hear them.
Left, the assembly hears the Wisdom of the Scriptures from Pastor Bill.  Right, they dance their way back to their families. Below, over a hundred people enjoyed the picnic.
Right and below, the moon bounce was a very popular feature.
Everyone had a great time.

Thanks again to Sarah and Stefan for taking the pictures.

Funny face night in art class. And perhaps elsewhere!  Below, Pastor Gohl pauses for a moment.  He and all of us invite you to the movie Friday evening, dinner at 6, movie at 6:30, and on Sunday to hear the school sing at 10:30 then picnic and MOONBOUNCE to follow!

Wednesday Evening

Right: Amber's reading class played a Jeopardy game. We're looking for the other photos that everyone took.

Thanks to Mark, Sarah and Stefan for sending these pictures while our webminister is away.

We offer a friendly, inclusive experience for children from our area. We have a staff to student ratio of about 5 students for every staff member. We provide dinner, some bible education, some social skill development, reading class and fun things like science and art class.  Each class runs 15 to 20 minutes and accomplishes a brief lesson.
Tuesday Evening
On Tuesday, we had a visit from one of the disciples that was in the boat with Jesus when he calmed the storm.  The camera also visited the reading class (right and above right). Left, we see the owls lined up. Every night after closing devotions, every student gets a little animal to keep.
Monday Evening
Above, Mr Tom making the french frys for dinner. They went well with the hot dogs! Left, Miss LaMonique leads the singing. The grasshopper prayer is hanging beside her.  Right, we had a visit from Ely the priest from the old testament.
Left, Mr Tom the Science teacher talks about sound. He demonstrated a lot of ways to make sound. Left, he's holding an organ pipe and he blew into it. Below left, he's got a xylophone and tuned water glasses.
Right and right above, Miss Carol conducted art class. We painted rocks and bandanas.
