December 31, New Year's Eve

Worship followed by a very nice toast and in the good Lutheran traditions: Food!  Pastor Gohl had a brief homily you can hear on this link.

December 27th
The Rite of Confirmation.

Breakfast at 9 AM,
Worship at 10:30.

Above and right, a good time was had by all at the Unity breakfast. Jack Roeder and Kent & Linda Gruzs put on an awesome pancake and sausage plate.

Upon this confirmation of the vows made for them at their Baptism, these young people become adults in the eyes of the Church.  The preparation for this day takes almost two years.
     
     
December 24, Christmas Eve

We celebrate the Birth of Christ in many ways. A very rich tradition is the use of music in our worship. We were most fortunate to have an "all star cast" arranged by our Director of Music, Vernene Rodgers Lenz (shown left).

Right, Andy Evans lead the praise team at the 5:30 PM contemporary service. Not shown was trumpeter Robert List, The Gregorian Chamber Society  and music assistant Susie  
Pfarr who also contributed. We also had the joy of hearing our Children's Choir at 5:30 and 7:30 worship services.

Above row, light is an important part of our celebration, as Christ is called "The Light of the World". We use candles. Above right, only candles provide our light while we sing "Silent Night, Holy Night".
